Hafil Ameer Wali - kayalpatinam
Hafil Ameer Wali: (Approximately 990 A.H – 1070 A.H)
Hafil Ameer Waliyullah’s birth and death years are unknown, but he was a student of Periya Shamsuddeen Waliyullah and also a classmate of Saint Sulaiman. Hence we can assume that he had lived between 990 A.H and 1070 A.H. He was hard working, sincere and obedient student. While he was a student, he went to see his beloved teacher Periya Shamsuddeen Wali and he was asked to stand near his resident door for a short time, but the spiritual guide came back only in the early morning and surprised to see his student was standing throughout the night. He appreciated him for his obedience and respect for his master. He prayed Almighty Allah to grace him good memory power and wide knowledge of various subjects. Soon he became an excellent Hafil and an eminent scholar. It was he who found out Arabu -Tamil writing method and also developed Arabu-Tamil literature. Like his professor, Saint Shamsuddeen, he also learnt the art of controlling and teaching jinns. Like his classmates, Saint Sulaiman and Saint Magudoom Sinnina Lebbai Alim, he also performed many miracles. His tomb is at Hafil Ameer Mosque.
