Periya Shamsuddeen Waliyullah was born around 941 A.H His father was saint Salahuddin. He was a great scholar and mystic. His lineage traces its root to Sayyidna Ameerul Mumieen Abubackar Siddiq (Rali). Periya Shamsuddeen Wali had his education under his father who was a great genius and a saint. He was an eminent commentator of Holy Quran and a distinguished Saint. He performed numerous miracles. He taught both men and Jinns. Sulaiman Wali , Hafil Ameer Wali and Magudoom Sinnina Wali were all some of his important students. He was one of the saints and he was Qutb of his time. He died on 10-32 A.H and buried at Kodimara SiruNainar Palli. According to a reliable reporter, nearly Forty one Jinns (elemental Spirits) visit his tomb daily. Among these Jinns, Al Jabruth is a famous one. Saint Abdur Rahman married one of his daughters. Saint Periya Uvaisna Lebbai Alim married one of his grand daughters. Even today jinns are visiting his shrine. As a honour to his professor Shamsuddeen Wali, Sulaiman Wali named his eldest son as shamsuddeeen and his last son as Salahuddin , after his father name Salahuddin.
