Sayyid Kali Alauddin Waliyullah - Kayalpatnam south India

He was named Sayyid Muhammad Kali Alauddin by his parents. He was a famous Saint and a Kazi of Pandiyan Kingdom. He was a contemporary of the great south India saint, Shahul Hameed Wali of Nagore. He was a great Scholar and social worker. The custom of bridegrooms move into brides houses was established by Kali Alauddin Waliyullah because of Mother-in-laws cruelty. Wherever this custom is found, one may conclude that people from Kayalpatnam settled that place after Saint Kali Alauddin Wali’s time. He was a great scholar and Qutb of his time. Alip Pulavar of Mela Seval stayed at Kayalpatnam and learnt about Miraj from Kali Alauddin Wali and composed "Miraj Malai". Alip Pulavar composed a poem in praise of Kali Alauddin Wali. Kali Alauddin Waliyullah died on 973 A.H / 1565 A.D. and was buried at Kali Alauddin Thaika near Ahamed Nainar mosque at Saduckai Street. In the same Thaika, there are tombs of four more Saints. They are Abdur Rashed Waliyullah, Sayyid Muhammad Waliyullah, Sayyid Alauddin Waliyullah and Mariyam Wali.
