Umar Waliyullah kahiri

Umar Wali was the son of Shaikh Abdul Qadir. His grand mother was a daughter of Sadakathulla Appa. He had his earlier education under Muhammad Nusky alias Pal Appa. He got baiath from him. Umar Wali also got baiath and Khilafath from Sayyidna Jiffri Thangal, a sage and a saint from Halramawth, a descendant of our noble Prophet Muhammad (sal). Umar Wali went to Mecca to perform Hajj and to Madina for the Ziyarath of Holy Prophet Muhammad (sal). In Madina he met a great Schoalr and a Saint Assayyid Muhsin Al Mukaibali. He taught Umar Wali many hidden secrets of spiritual teachings and gave baiath to him. Umar Wali spent five years in Madina as a teacher and then as a principal. Then Umar Wali came back to Kayalpatnam. Oneday, while he was leading Jamath at Magdoom Mosque, he heared the call from his spiritual guide Sayyid Muhammad Buhary Thangal and went to Cannanur. Qutb Buhary Thangal gave him baiath. When Buhary Thangal came to Kayalpatnam, people gathered at the seashore and received baiath from him. He was the Qutb of that period. Umar Wali went to Achakarai in Indonesia and spread Islam. Umar Wali had six sons and one daughter and all of them were saints. Umar Wali wrote poems of utmost elegance and concentrated mostly Sufi themes. His work Allafal Alif is a masterpiece. The verses are in alphabetical orders. Another poem "Ilahi Kam Tubaqqini", "O God how long you are going to keep me alive" is very famous in Tamil Nadu and Ceylon. Umar Wali passed away this earthly life on 14th Thul Qaeda 1216 A.H / 1804 A.D.
